Pygmalion

IDOL at OCan23

IDOL was part of the all-Canadian Ottawa Canadian Film Festival 2023 on Nov. 3, 2023. Here’s an interview where I got to chat with filmmaker Andrea Wing (Trapline, Leo & Chester) and host Monique Fuller on A Luta Continua, CKCU 93.1 FM.

We talked about how we made our films, their relevance and in what ways technology makes filmmaking more accessible but also distances us from things that matter:

Short film “The Idol”: preview at Fresh Ideas conference

Very happy to have been invited to present a preview of “The Idol” at Puppetmongers Theatre’s mini-conference Fresh Ideas!

This year’s Fresh Ideas is to be an online event, so a great chance for all of us outside the Toronto region to be part of it. There will be a series of presentations in the afternoon, and an evening cabaret with performances and screenings, including The Idol.

“The Idol” is a live action puppet short film based on the story of Pygmalion and using a set and puppets made from recycled cardboard, and filmed in a home-made miniature film studio. It is a work-in-progress; the screening at Fresh Ideas will be an incomplete preview.
