On parle surtout de la vie de Lotte Grimm elle-même, et de son rapport avec les contes de fées collectionnées par ses célèbres frères.

Come and meet the Brothers Grimm’s little sister, in a puppet play for all ages!
While the Brothers Grimm are out on a desperate quest for more fairy tales, their little sister Lotte sneaks a peek at a freshly collected but incomplete tale in their notebook. Bored and tired of her household chores, Lotte sets out on an adventure to fix the story and save its heroine from doom. If she can come up with a satisfying ending, she might just not only salvage this particular story but also give her brothers a whole new idea on how to beef up their collection so that it can get published.
Based on historical research and using different types of puppets, this whimsical play gives a fresh perspective on how our classic fairy tales were first recorded, and how women contributed to their preservation. For anyone who loves puppets or fairy tales!
Created and performed by Kris Fleerackers.
Outside Eye and Story Consultant: Atma Frans.
Presented by Fallada Puppetworks in association with Presentation House Theatre.
Suitable for all ages (5+ recommended), approximately one hour long.

Puppetry and Object Theatre Workshops
Lots of fun with the home-schooling students of SPIDER Elementary School on the Sunshine Coast! Rather than build puppets, this time, over the course of two days, we focused on puppet and object animation, exploring existing and new meanings associated with everyday objects, and story building.

IDOL at OCan23
IDOL was part of the all-Canadian Ottawa Canadian Film Festival 2023 on Nov. 3, 2023. Here’s an interview where I got to chat with filmmaker Andrea Wing (Trapline, Leo & Chester) and host Monique Fuller on A Luta Continua, CKCU 93.1 FM.
We talked about how we made our films, their relevance and in what ways technology makes filmmaking more accessible but also distances us from things that matter:

La chevalière errante à Coquitlam
C’était un grand plaisir de présenter “La chevalière errante” avec Michèle Smolkin deux fois à L’école des Pionniers-de-Maillardville à Coquitlam. Les étudiant.e.s étaient très engagè.e.s et posaient des questions surprenantes après. On espère y retourner un jour!
