Workshops

Puppetry is a multifaceted art form. It engages the mind through imagination, story building and planning, but it also literally requires a very hands-on involvement in the construction and manipulation of the objects that are its actors. Not only that, bringing objects to life means becoming more aware of our bodies: how they move and how we express ourselves through them. To those who tend to shy away from the spotlight it gives a unique chance to express their ideas on the stage and experience firsthand the joys of making theatre. Finally, it gives young people growing up in a hypertechnological world a taste for the wonders of homemade entertainment using materials from dollar stores and the recycling bin.

Kris Fleerackers has professional experience teaching children, adolescents and adults. He can offer workshops in puppet building, performance and storytelling with objects.
