Today was the last day of an intensive Puppet Camp for children and youth at the Gibsons & District Public Library. Three days of chaotic fun and mindblowing creativity. We explored puppet building and performance, using sock, tabletop and giant puppets that we made ourselves in class. The results surpassed all expectations! Many thanks to Danielle Arsenault and the Gibsons library for making this possible.
So great to perform with the legendary Bread and Puppet Theater again, decades after my first experience with them in New York City. This time they came to Vancouver, for workshops and two performances at SFU’s School for the Contemporary Arts, of course including one of their epic stilt walker and giant puppet parades through the downtown streets!
